Your social media marketing can be turned to nothing if you don’t know what you are doing. Not only efforts will get wasted but also the time and opportunity to promote your products and services. That’s why here we are providing you some useful tips to improve your social media marketing.

There may not an exact formula to determine the best time to post, but sharing at the best time can literally enhance your social media marketing. There are some data analysis that found the optimum times to post on various platforms as follows: 9 a.m to 11 a.m. EST for Google+, 1 p.m to 3 p.m. For Twitter, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for Facebook, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. for Tumblr, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. for Instagram, and 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. for Pinterest.

 

In my observation, women tend to be online late on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest. I typically post at 10 p.m to 11 p.m.

 

  1. Grow your email list.

Believe it or not most internet users are still checking their email everyday. According to a survey by Exact Target, which is now part of Salesforce, In 2012, 91 percent of consumers checked their email everyday. Furthermore, it found that email is the preferred channel for customers. Since email can be a major asset in marketing campaign, growing email subscribers can also potentially improve your marketing. Provide a sign-up form on your web pages or on Facebook through one of many apps, offer incentives or discounts for customers to join an email subscription list or run a contest.

 

  1. Conduct A/B tests.

Conducting a test can make a great impact on improving your marketing strategy. Run a simple test which is also know as split testing to know what customers like. Getting a response from them is very important to your marketing strategy and your business.

 

  1. Send the right message to the right platform.

Not all social media platforms are the same, although they have one main goal and that is to connect people, they have different platforms. Understanding each platform can help you improve your marketing strategy. For example, if you want to promote products, the first thing will come to your mind is Pinterest, since it is best fit for it. But you can also promote your products in other social media sites or platform. You just only have to learn or adapt the proper way to promote products on that social media platform.

 

  1. Don’t just rely on organic strategies.

Organic strategies such as search-engine optimization would not be enough for all your marketing needs. Sometimes, you also have to pay to get a spike in traffic and get an immediate results. Use Google Adwords to advertise near specific searches of keywords and you’ll only pay if someone clicks on your ad.
